(1) SMILE - Even if you make a mistake, smiling will make you look and feel good! Remember to have fun, and the audience will too!
(2) Stay STRONG in your movements - If you are very limp in your dance steps, or arm movements, it shows to the audience, and not in a good way. Stay strong and sharp.
(3) Know your TIMING & Que - Remember when you need to enter the stage, and leave the stage. Also, where you need to be before, during, and after a routine. You never want to look confused to the audience. Put on a good show!
(4) PRACTICE your steps and dance routine - Practice frequently in and out of class. Go over the steps in your head, and try to imagine your self actually on the stage in front of people, performing. It may be easy to remember the steps in classes, but sometimes we get confused with all the stuff going on while performing. Imagine what it will be like and how you will react. Practice the routine facing different directions. It will help you to not feel confused when you are facing a new direction that the stage is in, and you will still be able to remember the steps and routine.
(5) MAKE-UP & COSTUME - Everyone wears stage makeup and costumes, different from everyday wear! It really helps you to look better on stage! The lights from the stage drown out the face, so use bright, and dark make-up! That includes lots of blush, mascara and eyeliner, sparkles when you want and can, and lip stick. (Keep in mind that this is optional, but it does really help bring out your face on stage... it doesn't look wierd on stage when you have that much make up on... which is why it is called "Stage Makeup"
